    To avoid the RFE, will it be okay to get registered at the local county in US?

    I think during the time of economic recession, USCIS is trying to help survive the immigration lawyers,. At present there are less cases of new H1B as the quote is still open. My lawyer sends me some past invoices in between. LOL

    If you are not married, Yes, you can get married in the US, however, you will have to register the marriage in your home country if both of you are non-citizens.

    If you get married in accordance with the Hindu rituals, you will need a Memorandum of Marriage to get a certificate. the form might vary from state to state or even jurisdictions.
    OR
    you can set up a date with your marriage court and get married in court, that is called a legal marriage(registered marriage).

    you can also put links on an image in dreamweaver with image maps.

    it's very easy. Just bring the image (or images if you have cut it up) into dreamweaver. Click on the image and in your Properties Pannel you will notice a bunch of options for drawing. Choose the square or the circle or whatever shape you want to make and just draw ontop of your image. This will be an active Hyperlink and will not ad and colours or outlines to your pic.

    I applied for H1 extension in June'07. I got RFE on I94 first & then one more on my consulting company. Both were responded on time.. Finally, I got a denial notice on my H1 recently stating that my education background is not Computer Science related although i hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. Am very upset after hearing this.

    I have few questions for the experts here.

    1. Is it possible for me now to apply for new H1 thru some other company?
    2. Can i re-appeal the decision and stay here legally?
    3. Are there any good attorneys that can give me good advice for me to take the next step?

    Please let me know.. This is urgent for me right now.

    My wife is in a similar situation. I-94 validity matches passport expiry (Dec 2008) , but H1 visa stamp is until Mar 2010. She has a new passport, but we are not sure if she will be out of status if she does not get a new I-94 and stays in the country beyond Dec 2008.

    Hi,
    What's the Maximum amount of money the parents of a h1b person can carry from US to India when they are returning after a visit on B1 visa? I heard it should be a dollar less than $10,000 per person. Somebody told me its $10,000 per party. Please answer this.
    So if father & mother both are traveling back from US to India can they carry $9999 each in their hands while traveling through air? It will be $19,998 total for the party in total
    While coming to US I heard you don't have to declare the money/currency you are bringing as long as they don't exceed $10,000. So if they are taking most of that money back along with some extra cash (total < 10k per person) is it safe to avoid any questions/complications with US TSA/ CBP?
    Have anybody got into problems or delays?
    I just want to have the right information handy just in case.
    Please help by sharing the right answer. Thanks in advance

    I think that the total limit is $10K for a family (not person). If I remember correctly, on entering the country, we are asked to fill only one customs form for the entire family - and it clearly states in that form that the total allowed is a max. of $10K per person.

    Having said that, the following are considered to be cash (not fully inclusive):
    1. Traveler's check
    2. Cash
    3. Checks
    4. Money Order
    5. Cashier's check

    The following is not considered as cash:
    1. Credit cards
    2. Debit cards

    So if you would want to send more than 10K out of the country and not want to get into any issues and also be on the safe side, it would be a good idea to pre-load a debit card and then send it with your parents.

    goel I know that, I have already done that twice in previous stampings at Canada. Each time I went a day before to the Scotia branch prior to my appointment. What concerns me is this statement.

    If you have already scheduled to attend an appointment through NVARS, please pay your MRV fee prior to September 1, 2010


    My appointment is for Sept 8. To pay MRV fee prior to Sept 1, I need to be physically in Canada at a Scotia bank branch before Sept 1. Today it is Aug 20, and I still havent gotten my passport back in mail yet with Canadian visa stamped on it. My scheduled arrival in Canada is Sept 7 so I can take care of Scotia bank receipt prior to appointment. But their statement says, the fee needs to be paid prior to Sept 1.

    See my point?

    You need not worry about maintaining your H1B status in order to file for 485. Your 140 is already approved so when your date arrives to file for 485 you can file for it from Canada. You can come and work again based on your 485. You may go for councellor processing for your GC and get it outside the country. Councellor processing might even be faster than waiting inside US at 485 stage for long times until one finally get actual GC in hand.

    I commend your planning and applying for Canadian PR in time as plan B.

    My case was also transferred to CSC. The transfer notice has a different receipt date than the receipt notice. MY case is now transferred back to NSC.
    I would like to know if anybody of you have received finger print notice. I have not received it yet.

    No FP, or any other communication whatsoever. Just the transfer notice.

    Part of the problem is the employers do not have a long term plan for their companies. They are always on look out for a fast buck. If employee satisfaction and client satisfaction are more, the company has better chance of growing. Typically when the client is satisfied, the company gets more projects and this way the set-up costs like relocation, travel expenses come down. Companies can not break the law just because they are not able to make a profit.

    I did something different.

    In the field "Date of last entry into US", by mistake i put the I-94 validity date. On I-94, there is the date paroled and also the I-94 valid until. By mistake i put in May 2010 instead of May 2009. I did submit the application. When i was sending the supporting documents, i put a cover letter asking them to correct the date. I have to see how they respond. Did anyone actually get this thing corrected. And does these things cause any delays in the processing of the EAD application.

    I am from Africa..my Priority date is 9-2004 - Labor, and I 140 approved. havent filed the 485 yet - But i guess I will....So my question was if i get married like in Dec or so...can i apply for the GC for my wife...Thanks! Cheers..Just joined today.....this site rocks!
