For EAD ,the documentation is pretty simple and straightforward.
Please goto USCIS site and take a look at I765 form and the associated instructions. Once you spend 15 minutes on that, you will have most questions answered yourself. For the ones you have doubts, please post back.

Mr. Vayalar Ravi , Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs,is coming to USA on June 27,2006. He is coming to Washington DC on July 4 to meet Indian Ambassador and Indian community. We should try to meet him personally and explain the problems we are facing. He can talk to US counterparts and do something for us.
Let us organize an event to meet him on July 4. Since It is a holiday, lot of people can meet him and chat with him.
Just an assessment on where we are collectively as a group:
312 new members in June 2006
1100 new members in May 2006
1400 new members in April 2006
1000 new members in March 2006
400 new members in February 2006
600 new members in January 2006
4812 in total membership.
Each one of us should personally get involved in engaging legal immigrants who are affected by the retrogression problem. It is hard to imagine that there are 6-figure number of people in retrogression but there are less than 5-figure number (4812) of people participating in this voluntary effort undertaken by IV.
Please talk to people around you and make them aware of the situation. Creating an account in IV and clicking a button to send web faxes is the least these people can do for their own benefit.
I'm sure that IV core will also become stronger and can gain more leverage during negotiations/lobbying with the appropriate authorities.
On a side note, please have some faith in the strategic decisons made by IV core. I understand that a lot of people here are desperate to see some progress but I personally feel that IV core is on a great strategic path to acheive our goals. In the mean time, if each of us can do our part by recruiting 10 people to join IV by the end of July. We will be stronger and more effective.
Just imagine if our membership is close to 50000 by the end of July, we can take a rally just like the Irish lobby group. Ours will be much legitimate because we are not rallying for illegal immigrants, unlike them. So divert your time resources in the next month in achieving this goal and leave the strategic decision making to IV Core and QGA.

Report indicates that Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), Rep. Nydia Velasquez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) will meet with President Barack Obama this afternoon to talk about the chances of getting comprehensive immigration reform or the DREAM Act passed in the lame duck session, signaling the Democrats, Hispanics, and Obama turning their posture in CIR or DREAM from "defensive" to "offensive" strategy, by going forward with the all-court pressing DREAM or CIR during the Lame Duck session. For this apparent strategy, time is indeed short and running out. There was also report that the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) could bring the DREAM Act to the floor as early as this week. This strategy will push and corner Republicans to the "defensive" position in connection with the 2012 Presidential and another national election. For this matter, the Democrats have nothing to lose by pushing for DREAM or CIR during this Lame Duck session while they are in a majority position. Failure to pass the DREAM Act during the Lame Duck session will be placed on the Republicans, which are likely to bring about some Republican casualties and political liabilities in 2012 election. From the perspecitives of the DREAM activists, this is indeed considered a last chance and they are taking an aggressive position to take advantage of such political strategy of the Democrats. Thanks to all for your feedback. All very helpful. I should have mentioned that I captured this image during a break at a trade show and, since I'm from Illinois and any flower is appealing at this time of year, I couldn't just let them go.
Russell hit the point I was trying to get to, but apparently didn't explain very well. In this kind of shot there, by default, is not focal point in the scene and, as Russell has demonstrated, you have to create something that isn't there from the human eye perspective. He was able to achieve the necessary composition in PS and it works quite nicely. The dilemma I face with these shots is that the visual impact is the planter full of blooming flowers and attractive foliage. One option is to have the planter be the focal point of a larger scene, but in this case, the larger scene was the grounds of the Anaheim Convention Center. Not a scene I want to capture. So the image becomes what's in the planter and then the problem is, what part of what's in the planter. Obviously, I could have gone for a macro shot of one cluster of flowers, but it was the collection of flowers that was attractive. From what Russell has demonstrated, the solution seems to be a semi-macro shot. To achieve that in the camera requires a narrow DOF and placement of the chosen flower cluster at one of the "rule of thirds" points. I guess, in the final analysis, there's no real good way to get a captivating image that shows a portion of the planter with as many flowers in focus as possible. (Of course, I could carry a small cherub figurine with me on business trips to plop into planters such as this as a focal point. You probably put the update on your camera (if you followed Nikon's directions) but you may have not installed it. What I mean is if you go to firmware to see what version your using you should see at the bottom update available, install? Or something along those lines. You then must select that and hit the enter button. When it is installed the menu should be a dark grey color. That is the 2.0 menu.
Bracketing can be done by holding the button on the left side of camera (with back facing you) behind the auto,m,a...dial. It's beside the format button. If you hold that and roll your thumb dial on the right hand side it should turn on your backeting. If you want to adjust the settings you should be able to do that using, I think, your index finger dial on the front.

GC application is for future employmnet - so u can theoritically not join ur employer until ur GC is completely through. But how many employers will be willing to take that risk , esp. mom-pop shop Consultancy firms.

I was looking for getting VISA for my Niece and Nephew, who are below 14yrs. But I didnt find an option for them not going to consulate.

I am July 2 filer. My EAD and AP was filed later in August. I got my EAD and AP receipts but I am yet to get I-485 receipt. Has this happened to anybody else? Is it possible to get 485 case number from the EAD or AP case numbers?

Hi All,
My Wife�s I-94 expired on Jan 15, 2010 and I did not know that I had to apply for her H4 extension while applying for my H1B extension under regular processing on March 1, 2010.My employer also forgot to apply for H4 extension. Now that, it�s been more than 2 months with the I-94 expired, Can you please let me know what options I have to resolve this issue?
1.Can I upgrade my H1 Processing to Premium and add the H4 processing to it, so that both H1 and H4 are processed simultaneously?
2.If adding H4 while upgrading H1 to premium is not possible, Should I just upgrade my H1 to Premium so that I can know the results soon and have ample time (before the 180 days grace period) to apply for H4 extension(I-539).Is it true that H1B premium approval is risky compared to regular processing ?
3.Is it safe to go back to India within 180 days (after I-94 expiration) and get H4 stamping in her home country once I get my H1 Extension?
4.Should I just leave my H1B in regular processing and attach the H4 extension (I-539) to it? If attaching H4 is not possible, Can I file H4 separately and get it approved before 180 days expiration?
5.Once her H4 extension is approved, can she get her H4 VISA re-validated in US? Can she apply under �Nunc-pro-tunc� Category?
6.Does she have an option to attend H4 visa interview in Canada or Mexico as her Visa and I-94 are expired? If yes, is this better option than going to India?

Just apply her H4 asap. No need to upgrade your pending H1 extension to PP (unless your employer is paying for it). Only your H1 application will be processed under PP. They will process H4 under normal processing. Both applications are processed under PP only when they are applied together. There is no separate PP service for I-539 application. I don't see a big issue here since not much time has passed since her H4 expiry. I have seen worst cases, more than 2 yrs before realizing H4 expiration. Like others suggested, no need for her to travel outside the country for stamping. Just file I-539 asap and go from there.
